Dunk Calculator
Find out how high you need to jump to dunk a basketball. Enter your standing reach and rim height to calculate the minimum vertical jump required.
📏 Your Measurements
Measure from the floor to the highest point you can reach with one arm.
This calculator uses a standard 10-foot rim plus 6 inches of clearance to help get the ball over the rim.
📋 How To Measure
1. Standing Reach
Stand next to a wall. Reach up as high as you can with one arm, keeping your fingertips extended. Mark the highest point you can touch, then measure from the floor to that mark.
💡 About The Calculation
This calculator uses a standard basketball rim height of 120 inches, which is 10 feet. It then adds 6 inches of extra clearance to estimate how high you need to get the ball above the rim.
Formula: Required Vertical Jump = 126 inches - Standing Reach.
