Vertical Jump Calculator

Calculate your vertical jump by comparing your standing reach and your max touch height. This gives you a clear performance number you can track over time.

Your Measurements

Measure from the floor to the highest point you can reach while standing flat-footed with one arm extended.

Jump as high as you can and measure the highest point you can touch. This is your max touch height.

How To Measure

1. Standing Reach

Stand next to a wall with both feet flat on the floor. Reach up as high as you can with one arm, keeping your fingertips extended. Mark the highest point you can touch, then measure from the floor to that mark.

2. Max Touch Height

Jump from a standing position and touch as high as you can. Mark or measure the highest point you reach, then measure from the floor to that point. Keep your hand fully extended for an accurate reading.

About The Calculation

Vertical Jump = Max Touch Height - Standing Reach

Example: Standing Reach = 96 inches and Max Touch Height = 126 inches. The vertical jump is 30 inches.

Tips To Improve Your Vertical

Build Power

Use plyometrics, squats, and explosive training to improve jump output.

Use Arm Swing

A strong arm swing can add momentum and help maximize your jump height.

Practice Timing

Approach speed and takeoff timing can make a big difference in your max touch.

Recover Well

Rest, mobility, and consistency help you keep improving without burning out.
